Every kind of nerdery imaginable.

Every kind of nerdery imaginable.: chenipan asked you: I started reading MKR and, boy, that was a great... -

mochibuni:

This isn’t femslash, but there is Lantis/Eagle, and they are PRETTY together.

Also the Lantis/Hikaru/Eagle 3 way pairing which is, seriously, pretty much canon in the comic.

I say read the comic before the cartoon, especially since the comic is much shorter in comparison. It’s a very tight story and the characters are well written, I honestly don’t think I would have enjoyed the cartoon as much without reading the comic first. And when it comes to the two different stories in the two versions for the second arc, it’s nice to already have the comic in mind when watching the episodes.

I have a person bias for the comic because Eagle is 100x prettier in the comic. >.> And I also ship Umi and Ascot, and the comic leans towards that.

And the OAV is lovely! It’s very very AU, but I loved it, and there’s also lots of shipping feels in it.

Given that this is CLAMP, even more than usual, I want to read the manga before watching the anime (I’m definitely more of a manga —> anime type of fan rather than the reversal, even if that often means I’ll get bored at the much slower pace, but I’m just a manga girl at heart!), but I think I’ll try the anime afterwards, if I can manage track it down!

Especially if things go a little differently in the anime—as long as it’s well-written, I don’t mind that!  I like being able to have two different stories with the same characters, so long as they’re both genuinely good stories.  (This is why I’ll always be fond of Sailor Moon Classic, because it doesn’t matter that much to me that things are different, it was still an incredibly powerful story and kept the spirit of the original.)
