A guidelines and resources post.
FOREWARD:
Oh, this is so pretentious, I know. But it’ll make me feel better to set up some guidelines in my own space, so fuck off if you think this is too full of myself.
ABOUT:
So. I changed my blog name back to girlsbydaylight because I felt it was a better fit for my blog (though, the original account was deleted, so those archives are still gone) and my feelings on fandom right now are basically: COME AT ME, BRO. In that spirit, I have a few things I’d like to make clear about my blog.
POLICIES:
→ Feel free to like/reblog as much as you want! I often go through someone’s tumblr and reblog 30 pieces in a row (well, I drop a lot of them into the queue, but same thing) because I want all those things on my blog, in a way that I can find them again. (Since you can browse by tags, rather than just paging through an endless likes page.) Feel free to do the same! Feel free to reblog a bunch or follow or not follow or just like or whatever you want!
→ Feel free to request anything, if you want. I usually just go by whim, but I’m always happy to hunt down and share more art for any given series if you don’t want to do the hunting yourself. :D
→ Don’t remove art credit from posts. I’m not as fussed about commentary or nerdy talk, but art credit is important! It’s already a fine enough line posting fanart with links (and I do try to include clickthrough links whenever I can, but that’s not always possible with photosets), don’t make it even less cool.
→ Don’t reblog my posts to mock or tear down anyone’s art or any characters. ANY CHARACTERS. You can do what you want on your own tumblr, but I don’t want to be associated your negativity or gross humiliation or shaming of characters. Any of them. Disagreeing and debate are awesome! I love when people actually get me to think! But if you’re reblogging just to be a jerk, then you can gtfo.
PURPOSE OF THIS BLOG:
→ Like it says on the tin, this is primarily a art-posting blog focused on female characters and their relationships. While I deviate sometimes and while I like to talk at length about certain subjects (especially the Sailor Moon manga), that is still and always will be the primary focus. It’s why I came to tumblr and it’s why I stay on tumblr.
→ Sailor Moon and Disney are probably going to be the most consistent over time, but over the last couple of months I’ve started a whole bunch of new series (thank you, emotional instability) and I get quite taken with a lot of them, especially if they have a bunch of awesome chicks in them. (Adventure Time and My Little Pony and Franken Fran, I’m looking at you guys.) Please be aware that this means I’ll cover a fairly large range of series! Primarily anime/manga/cartoons, but often delving into video games and the occasional Glee reblog.
→ I’ve been tagging anything with a bunch of flashing images or moving pictures with “gifs” if you can’t handle them and want to use tumblr savior to block those posts from my blog.
→ No, seriously, I post A LOT. I feel people should be heartily foreward about this!
