Ugh you are posting some legit beautiful Sailor Moon cosplay, and all your posts are really reawakening my love for this series! And I just found your Aishiteruze Baby tag and ALL MY FEEEEEELS. Anyway, you are doing a fabulous job of running this blog, keep it up!
OH MY GOSH YES ANOTHER AISHITERUZE BABY FAN BLESS YOU. Seriously, that manga (well, and anime, too, since I started with that) give me so many feels, it is pure, concentrated, weapons-grade level SUPER FUCKING ADORABLE.
And I’m glad you’re enjoying the Sailor Moon cosplay! Ugh, I have had so many feels for cosplay lately, there are so many people who are just so good at it and I love seeing ones that really make me feel like these characters could almost exist in reality. Well, not quite, but you know what I mean! I like having actual images to go with how I imagine them translating to live people versions. PEOPLE ARE SO PRETTY, GOSH.
Aishiteruze Baby - chapter 16
One of the reasons I find shoujo so very satisfying to read—KISSING. YOU ACTUALLY GET TO SEE THE RELATIONSHIPS PLAY OUT, THE RESOLUTION OF THE TENSION ISN’T AUTOMATICALLY THE END OF THE STORY, AND OH HEY KISSING.
These two pages of Kippei going to see Kokoro in the infirmary and they haven’t seen each other over the entire break and he apologizes for having gotten so busy and then asks if he can kiss her and then they do and just. Oh, happy sigh. My heart. Maki Youko’s art has gotten supremely pretty by this point and it’s not just a quick peck—we get two pages of kissing!
I really do ship this ship like burning. *__*

Aishiteruze Baby
By this point, the art has gotten super pretty, oh my gosh. And I love the chapter at the pool because a) it’s hilarity all the way around and b) YUZUYU AND KOKORO BONDING TIME. I love that everyone finds Yuzuyu adorable (BECAUSE SHE IS) and everyone really comes to care about her, Kokoro being no exception. It’s just a very short scene here, pretty much no longer than a single page, but it was one of those moments where you knew there at least was a relationship between these two girls that was just for them.
P.S. YUZUYU’S FACE WHEN SHE SAYS, “I DON’T HATE YOU!” TO KOKORO. I JUST WANT TO SNUGGLE THE ADORABLE BABY FOREVER, OKAY. IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK?

Aishiteruze Baby
It’s hard to complain about the pacing of their relationship when they are so adorable that I can hardly stand it! He’s trying to talk to her! To explain that he’s not interested in the other girls that are always approaching him! Kokoro-chan! Come over here! with his arms spread wide!
And she just blankly stares at him, “No.” AND THEN KIPPEI’S FACE IS HILARIOUS.
SHE IS SO UNFATHOMABLE.
AND YET SO CUTE.
AHHHH HIS LIFE IS SO HARD.AAA reading shoujo is my ultimate guilty pleasure
WHY IS IT A GUILTY PLEASURE?
SHOUJO IS AWESOME.
NO ONE SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF LOVING SHOUJO!!11
XD
No, really, I totally love shoujo! It has gorgeous art and often centers on female characters’ stories and their relationships and friendships and love and problems in life! Shoujo manga gets some of the most hilarious and adorable characters ever and YOU ACTUALLY GET KISSING IN SHOUJO. (Most of the time. I’m still pining for Kimi ni Todoke kissing. *PINES*)

Aishiteruze Baby
More hilarity with Kippei and Kokoro. You know what one of my favorite dynamics is? The cheerful dick and the cranky one when it’s layered over a relationship where both partners are clearly totally into each other! So, the first time Kippei sees Kokoro in a swimsuit and is like GIVE ME A HUG? and she tells him GO TO HELL, it was just complete and total love for me.

Aishiteruze Baby
So, I’m reading Aishiteruze Baby again and I do really love this manga and it’s weapons grade level of cuteness, but I got to this one moment and it’s just. One of those things about Japan that I see a lot.
Kippei runs into Yuzuyu’s mother out of the blue and basically asks WTF WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN AND WHY DID YOU JUST ABANDON YOUR FIVE YEAR OLD DAUGHTER?? but sees that she’s freaked out about it, so he backs off and apologizes, realizing that he’s being super rude, then asking her more polite questions. I know it’s a cultural thing, that what’s polite and what’s not polite is completely different from my own mindset! I’ve seen this over and over and over in different manga and dramas and anime! This is hardly the first time!
But it makes me pause every time because, holy crap, wondering where she’s been—after she ran off and left her child with family who didn’t really even know her that well!—is a perfectly legitimate question. But that’s Japan for you. Some stuff is just not commented on, no matter how legitimate a question it seems to me, as someone with a more Western mindset. The cultural divide on this sort of thing, what’s rude and what’s polite, what’s over the line and what’s proper, is fascinating to me!
But setting that aside, I’m really enjoying AiBaby again! I was surprised at how quickly the Kippei/Kokoro tension was resolved, to the point I almost didn’t realize it when they got together! But I’m totally fine with that because OMG THEY ARE THE CUTEST.
