How about Bulma/Vegeta for the meme?

aghhhhh bleh / don’t ship / ok / cute / adorable / sexy / perfect / beyond flawless / hot damn / screaming and crying / i will ship them in hell

I WILL SHIP THEM IN HELL.  I know there’s a lot that you can say is lacking in Toriyama’s writing, but I will love him forever for Bulma Briefs because she doesn’t need to be a fighter in the series to be badass.  Instead, she’s brilliant and creates the most amazing gadgets and she knows it.  She’s smoking hot and she knows it.  She’s rich as hell and she knows it.  She gets together with the aloof, ridiculously powerful, closed-off, former villain who clearly loves her even if he doesn’t say it and she knows it.  She argues with him all the time, she goes toe to toe with the Saiyajin despite being a regular human and doesn’t back down.  And all of these things are GOOD THINGS in the eyes of the narrative.  She is never punished for knowing what she has and being satisfied with herself.

And if we start talking about my feelings for Vejiita, we’ll be here all night.  But I love him ridiculously, too, this proud prince of a nearly dead race who has to come to terms with being second best in the universe, who has to learn to fight to protect something instead of fighting to destroy, who comes to love his family so much that he dies to save them.  He comes to learn to put others first in that he puts aside his pride and begs the people of earth to give their power to Goku’s genkidama—THAT SCENE.  Any time someone wants to dismiss Dragonball as not having any emotional content or characterization or progression of those characters, I just want to shove everything about Vejiita’s character arc at them.

BUT THEN YOU PUT THEM TOGETHER.  And, sure, fandom has to do most of the heavy lifting because Toriyama didn’t put in a lot of romance in his stories, but we got enough to know that they are AMAZING together.  They clearly love each other, but also both clearly enjoy the verbal sparring, because both of them are fiercely intelligent and quick-witted, and you know they were fucking ALL THE TIME.  ALL THE TIME.  Frankly, it’s a wonder they only had two kids!

I love them because you can just see that they totally turn each other on every time they’re around the other, you can see that they can both handle each other—I’m not sure anyone else could handle Vejiita and I’m not sure anyone else could handle Bulma.  But it’s not just that they’re the only one capable of it—I’m pretty sure they’re the only two who actually feed off that kind of energy the other puts out, even when they’re fighting.  Maybe especially when they’re fighting.  Because the make up sex would be A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
