HEY, FARMVILLE UPDATE TIME.  :D

So, I’m browsing the usual Farmville sites and it’s almost Valentine’s Day, so there’s a lot of that going around.  It’s cute stuff, but not a lot of it is OMG MUST HAVE!!! because it won’t really fit year-round.  I’ve been rather disappointed with the Chinese New Year items this year (except for the quest which had kind of an awesome pig - sheep - chicken - horse combo AND BONUS MYSTERY GAME DARTS FUCK YEAH), but the unreleased items for Mardis Gras are starting to come out.

Holy shit.



These aren’t so bad!  These sheep are actually pretty cute!  I like the cherry blossom ewe and the headdress ewe a lot!  (Of course they’re ewes so they’re not breedable, but there was no way that headdress would be feasible to breed.)

Then come the myriad of animals.




Some of them are kind of cute.  The headdress elephant is actually kind of neat looking and I don’t hate the headdress lama.  The grass dog and pig are kind of odd, but cute!  I’ll even give the shamrock dragon a pass (despite being a total repaint, come on, can’t we get a LITTLE variety with the dragons?) but the rest are just okay.

Then we get to the horses.




Christ, those are the gaudiest fucking things I have ever seen in my life.  I love anything cherry blossom-related but that looks awful.  The shamrock horse really isn’t that cute, despite that I’ve been waiting forever for a full-sized horse like that!  (Since there’s a shamrock pony already.)  The grass pony is kind of cute, but not cute enough to spend FC on.  I am cranky that this is what you give us for a sakura horse, BOO.

I know that you play farmville on FB I was wondering if there were any other FB games you played?

Yes!  :D  I’m most active in Castleville right now, because it’s shiny and new, but also because, holy shit, it loads like a dream.  I do feel a little overwhelmed by how difficult it is to finish some of the quests, how difficult it is to get or craft the pieces I need, but it’s fairly low pressure, so I like it.

I occasionally play Sims Social (I’m getting more active again now that they’ve upped the level cap and I can go beyond level 50 again), but I’m sort of frustrated with that game because it’s such a memory hog and I can’t quite get my house to look as nice as I want it.  Mostly, it’s a memory hog.  (But I’ll keep going back because I love the look of it and I just want a house to decorate!!)

I’ve played a bit of Hidden Chronicles, but I don’t think I’ll be sticking with it.  I used to play Cityville, but that game was such a pain in the ass to load that I finally said NOPE FUCK THIS NOISE I’M OUT OF HERE and just quit playing.  When even the rewards pages (the ones you pick up off your newsfeed, that is) ten ten times as long to load as a Farmville one does?  NOPE, I’M OUT.

I’ve played Treasure Isle and Petville in the past, but they’ve kind of faded out since Sims Social came along.  Petville was only fun because it was a house to decorate!!! and that’s what I wanted, but now SS gives me instead.  Treasure Isle is fun, but a total memory hog, too, and I don’t have time for that.  :|X

Occasionally, I also play a bit of Bejeweled Blitz, but not terribly seriously.  Oh and!  I FUCKING LOVE Fantasy Kingdoms, but I never play it because, christ almighty, between Farmville and tumblr, I already spend enough time on the computer.  XD

How about you?  I’m always curious what games others play, too!

FARMVILLE TIME.

So, yesterday I was pretty awesome and got the Giant Holiday Corn tree AND, since my train is at level 9 now (ONE MORE LEVEL TO GO), I managed to snag a Winter Polar Bear, FUCK YEAH I DID.

I’m going by this list of prizes, so the things I still want:
- Elf Penguin
- Winter Cottage
- Gift Mountain
- Santa Sleigh
- Winter Cafe
- like, about, a dozen snowy forests
- Mistletoe Penguin
- a handful of Holiday Planters
- EVENTUALLY, a bunch of lighted fences
- Ice Castle (lv10)
- Toy Factory (lv10)
- Red Nose Sheep (lv10)

I don’t care about the snowy tracks because I’m not planning to build a train through this farm, at least not yet.  Maybe someday, if we can expand it for coins semi-soon.  Also, I already have a little army of winter foxes, so I don’t desperately need more of those any time soon.

There’s also been an update to the market and FINALLY the new set of horses are out and, HMMM, I can’t decide if I want the new Sugar Plum Fairy Horse or not.  On the one hand, it looks pretty cute, on the other, it’s kind of gaudy.  But fairy stuff!  My weakness!  Sob.  Pink wings!!



There are also some new unreleased animals and, holy shit, look at the Frosted Fairy Deer.  I can’t decide if it’s the greatest thing ever or just obnoxious.  Or both.



I saw the survey about the 5th farm awhile back and I saw the pics on fvnation.com, but now they’ve made it over to farmvillefreak.com and I’m still super curious.  It looks like it might be a real thing (though, I imagine it won’t be for at least three more months, not until after the Winter Wonderland quests finish up, since it wasn’t until the LC quests finished that we got the WW) and I… I’d really love that fifth farm.  Sure, it’s getting to be kind of difficult to keep up with everything, but, honestly, I’m just here for the quests now, I probably wouldn’t be playing without them.  And I would L-O-V-E to be able to make a beach theme!  (Plz, plz, let us have shared storage soon, though, sob.)

I’m curious about the Hawaii Breeding Ocean, especially,  Is that going to be like the pens/zoos we have now?  Or is it going to be like sheep breeding?  Because I have missed the challenge of sheep breeding, to be honest.

I’ve been somewhat disappointed with a lot of the repaint animals they’ve come out with lately (that are the same as previous animals, only a slightly different color) and a lot of the rainbow animals haven’t looked that great lately, but OH MAN LOOK AT THOSE WINGS.  I really like that the horse itself is white (rather than the usual band of rainbow colors around the middle) but the wings are gradient rainbow colors and just ugh I want it so bad okay, sob.

I am working on a rainbow-themed section on my home farm and it would go so well with it, crying forever.

And I always encourage people to play Farmville.  I know it’s just a silly Zynga game but I really do enjoy the decorating aspect of it, it’s such fun to try to get my farms to look pretty!  :D

FARMVILLE NERDERY.

→ I saw the unreleased rainbow-themed animals earlier today and I was immediately like OMG STARS IN MY EYESSSSS over the Rainbow Pegasus, which I want like fucking burning.  But I knew—KNEW!!—that it was going to be a Mystery Game prize, because it was a themed set and there were six of them.  That’s how it always goes.  And then there was a post on farmvillefreak tonight that, sure enough, lists the new Mystery Game prizes that are coming up.

THIS MAKES ME REALLY MAD.  I WANT THAT RAINBOW PEGASUS.  But I am not going to spend FC on however many darts it takes to finally win it, especially when the other ones are okay, but nothing great.  Seriously, a BROWN horse with rainbow stripes in the middle?  Seriously?  The rainbow sheep is cute, but the only one I really desperately desire is the pegasus.  alksjdf;aks I’m extra pissed because they did this with the ice-themed ones, too!  I WANTED THAT WINTER PEGACORN, OKAY.

And to make it further insulting, when you get a foal from one of the Mystery Game animals, you can’t grow it up, like you could with other foals from horses that are out of the market.  It just goes, NOPE!, SOOOOOORRRY, this is a Mystery Game prize, so no growing it up for you!  RAAAAAGE.

(Plus, given that they very recently gave players two free darts to play, I doubt they’ll give us a free one for this new set and, hell, even if they did, I’d never get the one item I want.)

→ Okay, so that part pissed me off, but!  I had excellent luck with my trees tonight!  I got the Giant Gumdrop tree (so pretty!! it’s blue and lovely!) and the Giant Teddy Bear tree, which I haven’t even seen listed as being out on any of the news sites!  (It makes me wonder if there’s another tree I’m missing?  Since they usually release them in two or three.)  I also really seriously want that Frozen Apple tree because blue trees are sooooo pretty omg.  *__*

→ I have been having fun playing on the winter farm!  My train station is at level 8, but what’s really kind of making my gnash my teeth a bit is how cramped it is right now!  IT’S SUCH A GORGEOUS FARM, I really want to decorate it!  But they gave us 100 plowable farm plots, which takes up a huge amount of space on such a small farm, so I’m hoping expansions for coins will come soon.

Currently, my farm is a mess because I have so much I want to cram in there (Santa’s Sleigh, the Sweets Shoppe, I kept the Holiday Log Cabin because it was so cute, the winter wildlife pen, a horse paddock so I can get foals from my winter horses, etc.) and that doesn’t leave much room for decorating.  But I’m so anxious to do so!  I have an awesome Snowy Mountain that I’m dyyyyying to use!  I want to make a Garage so I can get a Combine and I’ve heard the Garage actually lights up!  AUGH, SO MUCH WANTING.

I know it’ll all happen eventually, but I want it all now because this game has gotten to be really fun for me again.

OKAY, I’M DONE NOW.  FOR TODAY.

CRYING ABOUT ALL OF THESE FEELINGS I HAVE THEM ALL. At least CastleVille and sims social, but the way you’re describing farmville makes me want to go look at it BUT I HAVE TO RESIST I CAN’T HANDLE ALL THESE GAMES and ravensky city. BRB time for games

Farmville is… I mean… FV is definitely my default game, it’s the one I put the most effort into and my entire account is geared towards it, while the others are incidental (but fun!) so it’s… I mean, obviously I recommend it, you know?  But it’s also a game that will suck up A LOT of your time, especially if you’re just starting out, it will takes AGES to collect everything you need.  (Which is why you pretty much need an account dedicated solely just for playing it and getting neighbors who are only there for playing it, too.)  If you don’t have the time, it’s probably best not to start it.

But once you’re established in the game, OH, IT IS SURPRISINGLY SATISFYING, especially if you like breeding animals into specific color patterns (my collection of Halloween-themed sheep was pretty awesome, I can’t lie) or getting the latest tree (SO SATISFYING TO FINALLY GET IT, but so frustrating when you grow over 100 trees and don’t get it and so frustrating trying to keep track of everything) or the excitement of combing over farmvillefreak.com and seeing what’s coming to the market soon.  (And, you know, if you need a neighbor to shove patterned sheep or pigs at you, I’m always happy to help if I can.  :D)

And I enjoy that there are enough ways to get the FarmCash that I’ve never had to spend money on the game, yet I don’t feel deprived of the things I really super want.  They give quizzes out occasionally that earn you FC and they’re giving us a FOURTH FARM to play on (WINTER THEMED!!!) and I’m just.  For all the things I grump about with them, I’m excited about playing again these days.

Also, you play Sims Social??  AHHHH, I LOVE THE GAME, A CHANCE TO DECORATE MY HOUSE YES JUST WHAT I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED.  I mean, Petville was cute, but it felt really limited and I was just there to decorate a house anyway.  Sims Social is much more of what I was looking for PLUS CUTE OUTFITS AHHH THE JAPANESE SCHOOLGIRL OUTFIT IS AWESOME.

I admit that I am also a Farmville-addict lol.

It makes me very happy to know I’m not alone in this.  :D  I used to be so derisive of games like this, they’re not real games, pft.  Then I got an iPad and started playing We Rule/We Farm and Farm Story (oh, jesus, have I never been so happy to leave a company behind as TeamLava, because their games ARE THE WORST.  THE WORST.  They promise weekly updates but those are liesssssss.) and GodFinger and after that it was only a matter of time.  Now I love them so much and they’re surprisingly complicated and satisfying when AHAHAHAHA YES THE LATEST TREE IS MIIIIIIINE.  :D

Gonna get this out of my system.

You guys are really lucky that I don’t talk about Facebook games here.  Because, holy shit, I have THOUGHTS.  About FARMVILLE.  THOUGHTS ABOUT FARMVILLE.  It’s a level of nerdery I never thought I would achieve, but here I am!  And Sims Social and Castleville now, which I mostly play because HOLY SHIT CASTLE CUTENESS GIVE IT TO MEEE and also the loading times are seriously easy, I can visit, like, 30 neighbors in a row and my computer is like, pft, whatever, I can do that in my sleep.  But fucking Sims Social.  I mean, okay, to be fair, my house is really a mess and it’s at 450k or so because, hoshit, I went nuts with the Japan theme (and now the Christmas stuff because wood-themed bathroom that I don’t need simcash to purchase?  ALL THE THINGS WILL BE MIIIIIIINE.) and so it’s really hard to load, but jesus fuck, visiting neighbors is hard.

Farmville, on the other hand, I just.  Ugh.  I don’t even know where to start.  My Lighthouse Cove is doing somewhat okay, though, it really needs some organization to make it look good.  And my home farm is just a complete disaster, I don’t even want to show it to people it’s such a mess.  I actually hit the halfway point of items you can have out on your farm and Zynga was like HOLY SHIT YOU ARE HALFWAY TO FULL UP STOP ITTTTT and my storage is just about completely full (I seriously fucking object to the way you can only buy fences for a limited amount of time and you need about 50 of them if you want to actually decorate with them and THAT IS A LOT OF STORAGE) and, jesus, what’s with all the new sheep and pig patterns lately?  STOP TEMPTING ME.  On the bright side, Sherry got me a dragonfly and butterfly patterned sheep (and I got her the snowflake boar in return, which THANK FUCK a neighbor of mine managed to get with the mystery prize and I got the winter snowflake patterned horse and the tinsel pony but I am SO MAD because I don’t have the winged pegasus in blue and I REALLY WANTED IT and I can’t just get a foal and grow it up because it was a Mystery Game foal and they won’t let you grow those up, UGH) so I managed to breed those sheep into black ones with flashing neon patterns and they look AWESOME.

However, fvnation.com said we were getting the winter farm on the 5th AND TODAY IS THE FIFTH BUT I STILL DO NOT SEE IT and my giftbox is seriously stuffed so fucking full because I didn’t put out the Santa Sleigh because a winter themed Santa Sleigh DOES NOT GO WITH A FALL-THEMED FARM, also I am impatient to do more trees, but I’m not doing any more until I get the winter farm because the newer farms don’t seem to have connected storage, so anything I put out to grow up, I wouldn’t be able to transfer over there and I am really frustrated by this.

ALSO, I finished the winter holiday quest on Sims Social, but I’m SO MAD AT MYSELF for not doing the little birdcage quest because AHHHH IT LOOKED SO CUTE, but I am pleased with the game because, if you play five days in a row now, you’ll get a chance at simcash, YES, THANK YOU.  I used to object to not getting a sim cash for every level you went up, but I can deal with this new method, I think.

Castleville is pretty solid, but I am getting seriously irked at my fucking peacocks.  I need to make a Tailor building.  To do that, I need to make a Dye Kit.  Okay, I have the Studio that makes them, but to make the Dye Kit, I need a Blue Feather.  Okay, to get a Blue Feather, I need to harvest an Adult Peacock.  Okay, so, I buy some baby peacocks and I have been feeding them like clockwork FOR A WEEK NOW and they are still only Youths and I AM READY TO SCREAM A LITTLE.  At least they’re feedable every 2 hours now, instead of the 6 they started out at, but AUGH, I JUST WANT THEM TO BE ADULTS ALREADY.

But, also, I have now bought three Amethyst Ponies with Reputation because YAAAY FAIRY THEMED PONIES MY WEAKNESS.  :D

So, yeah.
