I know this is a lot of text on the sidebar. Please bear with me, as it'll answer a lot of the questions you might have about me or this tumblr.
Oh I know I get so sad looking at those. I don’t have the money to actually pay for things but I love collecting the trees. X3
That is the hardest part of the game—when you want to buy things for FC and you don’t have enough to spend it freely and they’re only going to be in the market for two weeks before a WHOLE NEW SET of temptation-laden things comes around, sob. I have a weakness for anything with water in it, especially waterfalls, which I CAN’T EVEN FIT THEM ALL ON MY FARM, but I still keep buying them (with the FC I save up from Claire coming around or from the quizzes they offer) because of the driving need to have them.
But, collecting foals from neighbors! And, yessss, trees. Though, I’m getting kind of bitter about the trees because Zynga has released SO MANY of them lately and I can’t keep track of what I do/don’t have anymore and so many of them are just repaint jobs and I don’t like orchards (room I could be using for decorations + they never look quite right when you try to stack the trees in them in a specific order) so asl;dfkjaslkj!!

Well, to be fair, I often sacrifice usefulness for design, so I sometimes have a tough time actually playing the game. But, fuck that, I want pretty things! XD
However, looking through some of the entries people post in the forums in the design corner? It is enough to make you want to just curl up and cry forever because you will never decorate a gorgeous farm like they’ve done. SOB.
OKAY, THIS TIME IT’S THE LAST ONE FOR TONIGHT, HONEST.
This is my Hawaiian Paradise farm, which is a bit messy, but also a bit JUST THE WAY I WANT IT. The problem with the Hawaiian Paradise farm being split between water and land, is that it’s cut diagonally across the farm and, when the farm expands, it does so the usual way—down + to the left. Which means, my carefully crafted little top right corner with all the cute houses and restaurant and stuff? Does not get any new space up there, it’s still bumping up against the crop spaces I need.
This is SUPER ANNOYING because I still have a crapload of buildings in storage that I want to use because they fit the theme so well! (Also, my water section is a mess, I have done basically nothing with it, so ignore that it’s kind of haphazard and shit.) But I am pleased with the way that decorated section is shaping up and FUCK YES I DO HAVE A LAVA CASTLE IN THE MIDDLE OF MY FARM. AND YES THAT IS A LAVA PEGASUS. AND A LAVA TIGER.
See, this is why I play Farmville—because that shit is AWESOME.

Like, I totally understand the stigma against Farmville—it can be time consuming, it’s not a “real game”, it’s frustrating that so many things cost more cash than you have, etc. But I genuinely love it because it’s a great way to spend a few minutes on-line without really having to think about what I want to do, I just do my crops and some other maintenance. OR I SPEND FIVE HOURS DECORATING. You guys have no idea how much I love to decorate and Farmville gives me FIVE FARMS (soon to be six) to decorate however I want! With THEMES.
You can play it without giving money to Zynga, you can meet neighbors through the Zynga forums, people who are there JUST to play Farmville, especially if you get a separate account, because then you’re just there to give gifts and click on the links people need you for and collect the adorable as shit animal babies from your friends! (Which is definitely how I recommend playing—don’t try to play on a real account, you need one just for Farmville, because it’s truly a social game, you need friends to help you out in it. But there are TONS of people in the forums for that!)
I JUST HAVE A LOT OF FARMVILLE FEELINGS OKAY.
Did I say I was done talking about Farmville? Yeah, well, I changed my mind.
Okay, this is my home farm. It is driving me absolutely bugfuck because I have been working on this fucker for MONTHS. Every time I start to think it’s coming together, I realize, no, I hate it and I have to practically start over. Not easy, when I’ve painstakingly put so much out just so and it’s not like I have enough storage for all this shit. And, of course, a bird’s eye view like this doesn’t really do it justice, nor is it anywhere near complete.
However, it is starting to come together in a way that I don’t entirely hate. Those clover fences have been soooo good for me because they are actually the kind of fence that I want to use! It matches the spring/fairy-esque feel I’m going for and they’re dark enough that they actually set off all the flowers really well AND, YES, THANK YOU, the dainty fences that you can craft in the Craft Shop actually look pretty good with them!
As a bonus, there’s a close up of my little romantic area to show the point of how a bird’s eye view makes the farm look like crap, but you zoom in and AHHH I WANT TO LIVE ON MY FARM, OKAY. IT IS SO CUTE AND FLOWERY AND TASTY.
(And, yes, I need all those cows. That is how I make a shitload of coins and coconuts and eventually jade. PEOPLE NEED TO STOP HARVESTING MY COWS WHEN THEY VISIT, I AM USING THEM, YOU JERKS.)

Basically, my reaction can be summed up with, “Holy shit, I need ALL OF THIS.” I’m probably going to end up doing the early access thing again (like I did with the Hawaiian farm) because that week of waiting, knowing that a handful of neighbors are already playing that farm, when I’ve spent so much time practically clawing the walls to wait for it, it’s just not worth that extra week. It’s totally worth the 45 FC to go early, ALL THE MORE SO because they have an early access-only quest that has some cute prizes and I pretty much want ALL THE ASIAN THINGS.
I have a handful of themes that I am FOREVER WEAK to and those things include anything to do with fairies/spring/flowers and Japanese/Chinese themed buildings.
Which segues into, HOLY SHIT, LOOK AT THOSE BREEDING PENS. THEY ARE ALL GORGEOUS AND I WANT THREE OF EACH. The livestock pen and the horse stable (I think? because I’m not sure where the cow pens are) are GORGEOUS. And I’m curious to see what the buildable castle will look like in full form (it’s like the volcano reef or the train station, etc.) and if the prizes will be better than the Hawaiian Paradise farm. Because I love that farm and the coral fences are pretty cute, but there are WAY TOO MANY bushel prizes with that thing, seriously.
I’m curious about the new farming options—it looks like we’ll have regular land options, then more water options (which I’m not as fond of—it’s been hell to decorate the Hawaiian Paradise farm with that uneven cut between land and water and water makes sense on that farm, I’m not sure water makes as much sense here?), but also a new one. I’m kind of curious about it…?
Also, also. Looking at the current new releases for this week, I SERIOUSLY need a dragon tree and a phoenix fire tree. I finally managed to get the new bamboo bonsai tree and one other bonsai tree that I forget what kind it was. (Sadly, I grew them myself, so they’re not in my giftbox. :< ) But also, in the middle there, LOOK AT THAT CUTE LITTLE CLOUD MINI HORSE WITH THE RAINBOWS. FUCK, I WANT A WHOLE FARM OF CLOUDS AND RAINBOW SHIT, LIKE YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW. But, then, I want a whole farm just for Valentine’s Day and a whole farm for Halloween and a whole farm for candy-themed stuff, because, shit, there are so many themes and it looks like crap if you try to put them on the same farm!
I’m glad to see that Zynga’s sort of listening with all the leaderboard projects that are coming out! It’s not quite what I was hoping for (I wanted a leaderboard for all the crops we grow—give me a reason to actually want to master things!) but it’s close enough and AHHH THERE IS A PERSON AMONG MY NEIGHBORS WHO HAS GROWN OVER 300 TREES ALREADY, JESUS CHRIST.
I could probably collect that many seedlings and I have a shitload of SDBs to use for watering cats, but IT TAKES SO LONG TO GROW THEM ALL. Can’t we just have a “use all” option on the trees to instantly grow them, if we have the watering cans? Can’t we open more than just eight SDBs to get watering cans? Because that gets to be a pain in the ass.
OKAY, FARMVILLE NERDERY OVER FOR TODAY. (For now.)
So, it looks like we’re officially getting an Asian themed farm. I may have done a bit of internal screaming when I saw the link for it on the FV sites. It’s not a surprise—we’ve been getting dragon-themed things in the market and there’s a bunch of upcoming pandas and, of course, the shitload of bonsai trees they’ve released. They did a similar thing before the Hawaiian farm came out, which was super frustrating, because I would have loved to have snagged some of those decorations for my Hawaiian farm, except they expired out of the market before the farm was available. GREAT PLANNING.
So, seeing the Asian-themed stuff showing up was a good sign. But AAHHHHH I WANT JADE FALLS SO BAAAAAD. I’m going to be annoyed at how long the storage license will be (aside from paying 75 FC which NO I AM NOT GOING TO DO, not for something that will be free in a few months) because I have a shitload of cute Japanese garden themed things on another farm. I WOULD LOVE TO BRING THEM OVER.
Also, hopefully this means we’ll get more expansions for the Hawaiian Paradise farm for coconuts soon, because, seriously, I AM RUNNING OUT OF ROOM.

HEY, FARMVILLE UPDATE TIME. :D
So, I’m browsing the usual Farmville sites and it’s almost Valentine’s Day, so there’s a lot of that going around. It’s cute stuff, but not a lot of it is OMG MUST HAVE!!! because it won’t really fit year-round. I’ve been rather disappointed with the Chinese New Year items this year (except for the quest which had kind of an awesome pig - sheep - chicken - horse combo AND BONUS MYSTERY GAME DARTS FUCK YEAH), but the unreleased items for Mardis Gras are starting to come out.
Holy shit.
These aren’t so bad! These sheep are actually pretty cute! I like the cherry blossom ewe and the headdress ewe a lot! (Of course they’re ewes so they’re not breedable, but there was no way that headdress would be feasible to breed.)
Then come the myriad of animals.
Some of them are kind of cute. The headdress elephant is actually kind of neat looking and I don’t hate the headdress lama. The grass dog and pig are kind of odd, but cute! I’ll even give the shamrock dragon a pass (despite being a total repaint, come on, can’t we get a LITTLE variety with the dragons?) but the rest are just okay.
Then we get to the horses.
Christ, those are the gaudiest fucking things I have ever seen in my life. I love anything cherry blossom-related but that looks awful. The shamrock horse really isn’t that cute, despite that I’ve been waiting forever for a full-sized horse like that! (Since there’s a shamrock pony already.) The grass pony is kind of cute, but not cute enough to spend FC on. I am cranky that this is what you give us for a sakura horse, BOO.
I know that you play farmville on FB I was wondering if there were any other FB games you played?
Yes! :D I’m most active in Castleville right now, because it’s shiny and new, but also because, holy shit, it loads like a dream. I do feel a little overwhelmed by how difficult it is to finish some of the quests, how difficult it is to get or craft the pieces I need, but it’s fairly low pressure, so I like it.
I occasionally play Sims Social (I’m getting more active again now that they’ve upped the level cap and I can go beyond level 50 again), but I’m sort of frustrated with that game because it’s such a memory hog and I can’t quite get my house to look as nice as I want it. Mostly, it’s a memory hog. (But I’ll keep going back because I love the look of it and I just want a house to decorate!!)
I’ve played a bit of Hidden Chronicles, but I don’t think I’ll be sticking with it. I used to play Cityville, but that game was such a pain in the ass to load that I finally said NOPE FUCK THIS NOISE I’M OUT OF HERE and just quit playing. When even the rewards pages (the ones you pick up off your newsfeed, that is) ten ten times as long to load as a Farmville one does? NOPE, I’M OUT.
I’ve played Treasure Isle and Petville in the past, but they’ve kind of faded out since Sims Social came along. Petville was only fun because it was a house to decorate!!! and that’s what I wanted, but now SS gives me instead. Treasure Isle is fun, but a total memory hog, too, and I don’t have time for that. :|X
Occasionally, I also play a bit of Bejeweled Blitz, but not terribly seriously. Oh and! I FUCKING LOVE Fantasy Kingdoms, but I never play it because, christ almighty, between Farmville and tumblr, I already spend enough time on the computer. XD

So, yesterday I was pretty awesome and got the Giant Holiday Corn tree AND, since my train is at level 9 now (ONE MORE LEVEL TO GO), I managed to snag a Winter Polar Bear, FUCK YEAH I DID.
I’m going by this list of prizes, so the things I still want:

I don’t care about the snowy tracks because I’m not planning to build a train through this farm, at least not yet. Maybe someday, if we can expand it for coins semi-soon. Also, I already have a little army of winter foxes, so I don’t desperately need more of those any time soon.
There’s also been an update to the market and FINALLY the new set of horses are out and, HMMM, I can’t decide if I want the new Sugar Plum Fairy Horse or not. On the one hand, it looks pretty cute, on the other, it’s kind of gaudy. But fairy stuff! My weakness! Sob. Pink wings!!
There are also some new unreleased animals and, holy shit, look at the Frosted Fairy Deer. I can’t decide if it’s the greatest thing ever or just obnoxious. Or both.
I saw the survey about the 5th farm awhile back and I saw the pics on fvnation.com, but now they’ve made it over to farmvillefreak.com and I’m still super curious. It looks like it might be a real thing (though, I imagine it won’t be for at least three more months, not until after the Winter Wonderland quests finish up, since it wasn’t until the LC quests finished that we got the WW) and I… I’d really love that fifth farm. Sure, it’s getting to be kind of difficult to keep up with everything, but, honestly, I’m just here for the quests now, I probably wouldn’t be playing without them. And I would L-O-V-E to be able to make a beach theme! (Plz, plz, let us have shared storage soon, though, sob.)
I’m curious about the Hawaii Breeding Ocean, especially, Is that going to be like the pens/zoos we have now? Or is it going to be like sheep breeding? Because I have missed the challenge of sheep breeding, to be honest.
